It is a good advantage that many Bangladeshi students are at present pursuing their studies in the country. So, you can share with them. Also, you can solve the accommodation problem by renting an apartment. In that case, you will have to pay utility bills like electricity, water, gas, security, and so on. You may also have to make a ‘Tenants’ Insurance Policy’ to rent an apartment.
If you want to rent a room or house, you should double-check the following issues:
- Facilities
- Deposits
- House tax
- Inventory
- Maintenance cost
- Bill payment
- Contract with owners
Although the rent of the apartment varies a lot in terms of the areas and cities, it costs around $6,000 to $14,000 per year.
Cost of Student Visa: For attaining the facility to study in the USA, you will need to attain a Visa. And for that, you will have to apply to the USA embassy. The visa requires $160 to apply for.

Stay Safe with Health Service and Insurance: It is obligatory to make an insurance policy if you consider studying in the United States. The regulation clearly outlines that every student must ensure an insurance policy before the start of their respective program. At present, some American universities are offering a student insurance plan. But the drawback of this insurance policy is that it will terminate as soon as your programme finishes. The insurance plan will cost you around $1,500-2,000 yearly.
Taxes: While pursuing your study in the United States, you will be allowed to work 20 hours a week. This regulation will be reduced in time of vacation. At that time, you will be allowed to work full-time. However, you will have to submit your taxes on this income. One thing to mention is that while staying on your student visa, you will have to only pay taxes based on the income that has been generated from USA sources.
